200 exhibiting brands exhibited trends and releases in medicine, nutrition, behavior, technology, fashion and luxury for dogs, cats, fish, birds and small animals
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Brazilian pet market turnover of approximately BRL 18.2 billion in 2011. For this year, the expectation is 12% growth accordance to Abinpet - Industry Association of Pet Products. This and other impressive numbers have been confirmed for the 11th edition of the Pet South America, main exhibition for pet and veterinary market in Latin America, organized by NürnbergMesse Brazil, which took place during the 16th, 17th and 18th October at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo.
To Ligia Amorim, managing director of NürnbergMesse Brazil, "the domestic market is mature, increasingly professionalized, and showed trade show edition through more than 200 brands, this is a very promising sector, in full expansion which will be, undoubtedly, one of the main economic pillars of the country in coming decades. We are proud and with the feeling of duty accomplished when seeing that the exhibition is the main platform for this business sector and gathers every year, pet and veterinary’s trends and innovations.
With 21,374 visits from industry professionals, the trade show brought 60 new exhibitors and 3 themed pavilions - SEBRAE-SP, Aquarium and Chinese. Many parallel events habe been promoted, Congresso Paulista das Especialidades who received 1600 Congressmens, the 8th Seminar of Management and Marketing with qualified content, directed to veterinarians, retailers and entrepreneurs from pet secotr and presentation of GS&MD - Gouvea de Souza with his Brazilian Pet Study showing the national pet universe.
The Pet South America also received special support from the National Union of Animal Feed Industry (Sindirações) and unexpected partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
